You're not wrong, but I eat a scoop of peanut butter to keep me from eating something worse. That all-natural peanut butter tastes like chalk.

Time to buy some apples.

What's the downside of eating regular peanut butter over natural peanut butter? I usually use pbfit or skippy natural/kirkland brand

I used to love this stuff, and would eat it all the time. Now I won't buy it any more and haven't for a couple of years.

Read the ingredients and if you don't know what half the stuff is look it up. It's really not healthy for you but one reason people like it is the amount of sugar. Skippy natural ain't very good for you either (I used to buy it too)

Costco has Teddy's natural (peanuts and a little salt only) but they rarely have crunchy (dislike "smooth" or "creamy") so I buy it at the grocery store but it's definitely worth it IMO.

Thanks OP. My local Costco stocked this once in the last 9 months or so and I go through one container/month.

This is best avoided despite the fact it's a good deal. PB should only contain 2 ingredients - peanuts and salt. I like Adams since it's simple and still comes in a glass jar.

The only difference between this and natural peanut butter is the addition of hydrogenated oil and a tiny bit of sugar. Hydrogenated oil is vegetable oil modified to be solid at room temperature. So unlike "all natural" peanut butter, there's no oil separation and it doesn't need stirring. Hydrogenated oil used to contain trans fats, but current processes do not produce trans fats. These bottles of Skippy show zero trans fats in the nutrition label. Without trans fats, hydrogenated oils are generally safe. It's always safer to go all-natural, but I hate stirring oil and peanut butter, so I have to stick to these.
