This device is practically pointless. It's just a bluetooth mic extension to direct access the Alexa app running on your phone. It relies on your phones internet connection then and if you drop connection because you live in the "sticks" and have poor coverage you get notified your connection is dropped rather than it having any independent function. Maybe Gen2 fixes this but Gen1 was a major let down.

Honestly I feel you'd get more functionality out of an echo input using your phone for wifi. Then your phone would be freed up at least.

Useless now that Amazon no longer allows you to play an album even if you own it. You're only allowed to create a "station" like early 2000's Pandora.

I've been wanting to try an Echo Auto forever but my Kinivo BT receivers have amazing call quality so I never did. Not sure why anyone would purchase these unless they're driving a vehicle that didn't come with Bluetooth and has a 3.5mm port.

That's me! 3.5 in and while my car actually has Bluetooth it only works for calls, not anything else. (What a dumb thing) I added an echo auto to let me play music and books and it works great. Pairs correctly every time and does so quickly. Really good audio quality for Bluetooth and no issues with my gen 1 device. Is it limited in usefulness, yes, does it fit my needs perfectly for a bargain price at $14? Also yes.

Love mine, even though my car has CarPlay. My whole house is smart, so adding this let me do things like preset the thermostat from the car before I head home or make sure I closed the garage (and sometimes close it) without having to use my phone.

Carplay is the primary for me, but the house talks to Alexa natively.

Do you use it for calls? If so, how's the voice quality on the callers side? Do callers ever complain?

Awesome deal! I've been wanting one and have an Echo I got for free to trade in so with the $5 buyback and the 25% comes out to $27 and some change! Yay! I only wish I could say things like "Alexa, turn heat down, turn wipers on etc" lol

Not having wires reaching from my dashboard to this thing! They need to bring back the app support installed in your vehicle! That worked GREAT the short time they allowed it!!!

Yeah you seem to be confused. I listened to several albums yesterday, but thought, "hey, maybe this person is right, maybe amazon went insane and changed something overnight," but not, you were wrong, and you can still listen to millions of albums. I just tried 3 random ones to be sure. Maybe don't spread lies on the internet? Applause

Seems you didn't bother to mention you don't pay for Amazon music. You are using the free version included with Prime. If you have Amazon music (paid) you get 100 *Million* songs.

I have a first gen Echo Auto and use it as just a BT receiver. Like the other poster, my (old) car only has BT for phone calls, but not audio. The phone pairs with both the Echo Auto for audio and the car's in-built BT system for phone calls. Every so often, it might cause the in-built BT to glitch, but overall works pretty well.
I preordered it when it first came out, so for the price it's been a real bargain!

Maybe stop saying maybe in such a passive aggressive manner.

I own like 25 albums purchased through Amazon (as in paid $10 or more per album) that I am no longer able to play after the recent change a few months ago unless I upgrade to the paid plan.

Maybe
