Do yourself a favor and save your money not buying this crap. Speeds are dog slow and it'll inevitably fail earlier than you want it to. You're better off getting a more reliable micro-sd + usb 3/usb-c adapter combo or something like a Samsung FIT drive. If using for write few, read many purposes, maybe it'll serve it's purpose.

I have a 32gb that have been on my keys for years. Not the fastest but it's taken the abuse fine, even though I plug them in hanging with my keys still attached.

3 of my 4 PNY have failed within 2yrs.
I've been using predominantly PNY ones since the USB 1.1 days (granted, this probably only totals to about 4-6 drives). None have ever failed. Not saying they're always good or bad, but they're not generally 75% unreliable bad.

The microSD + adapter is probably the best option, though, considering the current state and probable future of home computing.

PNY is POS. Most of my thumb drives stop working or reduced space.

USB 3.0 is 5Gb/s, USB 3.1 is 10Gb/s, and USB 3.2 is the fastest at 20Gb/s
That isn't really going to matter on a USB flash drive. The absolute fastest drives I've seen peak around 400MB/s (Samsung FIT/BAR). Other drives I've used don't even come close to that. The interface is unlikely to be the bottleneck here. I've seen plenty of USB 3.0 drives that couldn't saturate USB 2.0 (480Mb/s or 60MB/s).

From a quick glance, the team group is usb 3.1 vs usb 3.0. Usb 3.1 supports faster speeds
The Team group one is USB 3.2 Gen 1. Which is also the same speed as USB 3.0.

This.

USB 3.0 is not a speed. USB 3.1 is not a speed. USB 3.2 is not a speed. They are interfaces.

Also USB 3.0, USB 3.1 gen 1, and USB 3.2 gen 1 are all the same thing (bandwidth up to ~5 gigabits per second.) And a drive advertised as supporting an interface actually says very little about its actual speed!

Writing data to flash drives is slower, usually much slower, than reading data from them. You can tell a drive is low-end when the only speed mentioned in specs is the (much-higher) read speed.

A cheap drive like this will probably have sustained write speeds around 25 megabytes per second, and sustained read speeds around 100 megabytes per second. The best you one can do as far as evaluating before buying is look for recent reviews that include benchmark results and screenshots. A review from last November shows 24 megabytes per second writes and 116 megabytes per second reads for this drive.

PNY SSD bought back in 2018. SMART says 310TB written. 2016 32GB PNY flash drive, use it for dual booting since beginning so lot of random read writes. Still works I guess YMMV on reliability

Perhaps I'm lucky, but I got this very drive eight years or so ago from a tigerdirect rebate program. It lives permanently docked on my PC and has not skipped a beat. Speeds are good, but im sure it doesnt hold a candle to thumbdrives of today. decent pickup otherwise

I just bought this PNY a day or two ago. It hasn't shipped yet. I would have gotten the Team Group if I knew it was available at that sale price.
I've had PNY and Team Group and found Team Group to be faster with a more consistent speed. PNY see-saws up and down and comes to a complete stop many times when writing.

I have two Team Group SSD's that work well.
I have many Team Group C186 and C175 flash drives.
The C186 is thinner than the C175 in post #1.
Someone said the Team Group C175 has a better controller than the C186.

Team Group has been around a long time.

I haven't had a PNY nor a Team Group fail on me.
I had an Adata fail shortly after it's warranty ended.

I've purchased six of the 128GB variant of the C175 homerj368 posted in post #1.
I've never noticed an LED on it.
The C211 has an LED and the same MSRP and sale price as the C175 on the same page as the link in post #1. I don't know if it's controller is the same, better or worse as the one in the C175.

I think I'll cancel my PNY order and get either the C175 or C211.

I've read that PNY isn't as good as it once was.
I've read many reviews in which people haven't liked PNY.

Right, I got the 64 GB back in 2015 for a "good deal" at the time (Black Friday era). Worked like a charm til one day, while transferring stuff to a new computer, it was not removing the contents I was cutting and pasting from it. The stuff moved to the PC fine, but the items still persisted on the drive. At that point, i knew it was hosed. Last me only a few years with moderate use. The only thing left for it was a sledgehammer treatment... 😅

I bought a similar family 128gb PNY one this past Black Friday season again for $10, but immediately returned because it was so slow and it was hard to trust PNY with my data like that again. Got the Samsung FIT drive that was on sale for $24 for it's almost SATA III-like speeds and Samsung reliability instead (even though it costed more).

Do yourselves a favor - Go with Samsung FIT Plus 256GB Typ-A 400 MB/s USB 3.1. Not a fanboy of any Korean crap, but this one delivers what it promises. Have these 4 x 256GB in a ZFS pool on RPi for the last 2 yrs, running 24x7, serving as network drives for 5 family members. Haven't seen any issues with these.

Agreed, my use case was that I wanted concurrent reads/writes on multiple devices, so that's what I did at the time. Cost vs Performance is always like a stick balancing on a needle head.

Don't buy this junk, writing speed constantly drops to 10MB\sec on mine.

PNY stuff usually good but, had one these and the speeds sucked... I returned it to PNY, not Amazon. and they gave me my money back.

There are better and faster drives for around this price or a little higher, save your money and get a better drive.
