I watch several of these TSTAK units in my saved items. They just raised the price on a bunch of them, and then had a sale (like overnight). Pretty ridiculous. Is this case a good deal? It's luke warm at best, actually lower than yesterday. I have other products in my saved list that are suddenly 35% off, and the same exact price. Shady.
I believe that these drop to this price pretty regularly, but don't let it fool you. They're really great for the money. I've got a stack of them in the garage. I even cut foam for one to make a hardcase for my DJI Mini 2.
Just FYI for anyone that is wondering - these are not natively compatible with the ToughSystem boxes. Adapters to exist online, but this is technically a different line of boxes.

If I have an average number of tools should I go ahead and get 2?

FYI, this particular case has no compartments or tray. It's just an empty tool box. Just letting you know. I have them, and they are useful as part of a larger TSTAK group, but I put larger items in them, or stuff that is sub-organized in fishing tackle boxes (like sockets).

To be fair, I think the ones marked as a toolbox are just open spaces. I've got the larger, unwheeled one and it's only a shell. Still, makes for a nice place to store the tools you grab and go with often.

Nice tip on using the smaller containers inside. I think I just saw another alert pop up for something that fits the bill.

Edit: Clarity on what "they" meant.

The deep toolbox (not wheeled) has trays - I have two, and I use them as my primary toolboxes. Several of the other units have compartments, like in the top latch.

I am looking to get the Mini 3 Pro with the RC remote - would this hold everything? Just asking in case you may know...

This system is designed to stack ontop of each other and since these are flip-up tops it probably wouldn't function well if stacked because the top one would be attached to the lid of the bottom one.

You have the option to latch them together, but it's certainly not required. I never latch them, and I have several stacks of various TSTAK units. Very stable.

Only $3 more at Home Depot so not such a great del. MSPR very inflated.

The clips are more so that you can stack them up and move them between sites. Obviously you would not want to open up a box with a bunch of others clipped to the top. If that is the sort of thing you need, there are TSTAK boxes with drawers.

These are great boxes for hobbyists that don't need the "construction site" quality (and associated cost) of DeWalt's ToughSystem line.

It absolutely is inflated. In fact, one of the TSTAK units that's been in my cart for like a year, it didn't even have an MSRP until this morning (at least not one listed on Amazon) - well, suddenly, this morning, it's MSRP is listed as $30 more than the price it's been at for a year. As I said earlier, totally shady move. This pricing tactic has been more widely used to maintain elevated prices from the pandemic and inflation, but make it appear like discounts are finally occurring. People that get baited are keeping prices high, unfortunately.
