I'm a Costco member and prefer to buy these, if that's any help.

Everytime this is posted I've ordered it... Amazon says it's ships and then like 2 days later I get a message that says it's cancelled due to shipping issues and I'm refunded. I'll give it another go I suppose

Use Muriatic Acid [homedepot.com]
It sounds much worse than it is.... and even though different in chemical composition. It is as hazardous as if using commercial grade bleach. Therefore, you should take the same safety precautions. (Proper ventilation, gloves, eye protection etc..)
It can also be found at pool supply stores.
The store can advice you how to use it to clean a toilet bowl.

Yes, but you need to drain as much water from the toilet bowl as possible, coat everything really well, and let it sit for a while.

Don't use a pumice stone for buildup, I did that before and took the finish off the toilet as well.

A bottle accidentally spilled on the concrete floor in garage for a few days, it tore up the concrete. Not saying you wanna leave it that that long but just that it's pretty potent stuff.

It does ok. I use comet. Let it sit for a bit then scrub.

I would not use muriatic acid. This stuff isn't meant to be used indoors and has highly toxic fumes. Really bad for your pipes as well.

I've only used muriatic acid for masonry after working with mortar.

I recommend Milliard citric acid powder from Amazon for hard water buildup. Add water to the bowl if needed to ensure water covers the buildup area, then put 1 cup of the powder into the bowl. Come back 3-4 hours later and the buildup should be gone, no scrubbing required.
