These work fine in metal, they clearly say metal is one of the materials on the packaging and I've used them for metal. Even cobalt or titanium can be destroyed quickly in metal if not ued properly. With any bit, even the most expensive high end ones, you have to use slow speed and cutting oil. The thicker the metal, the more oil you need to use and breaks you need to take to let it cool down.
If you plan to regularly drill I beams or similar, then no, these aren't the right bits (they'll do it, you'll just have to take a long time and use lots of oil and take breaks). For that you need some very expensive specialized bits.
I've used basic black oxide bits in metal just fine with proper procedure.
Now a hammer drill in non hammer mode, then yes, of course they'll be fine, just a regular dril at that point.
These are not magnetic, no drill bits are. You can buy a magnetizer for them but not sure why you would need a magnetic drill bit? If you drill through metal, they will magnetize a bit and hold the shavings on the tip usually.
EDIT sorry ignore the above, I see these are hex shank (they have another similar set that isn't). So yes if it is a hex snap in type driver, these will work fine.

If you don't have a variety pack of different size bits and drive types, get a combo pack. The ones I link above fit most screws in normal applications, but I use different bits all the time.

the ones you link to are fine, for general use, and probably for most uses.
these are just... 'nicer', perhaps more durable.
*Correction, mine from Lowe's seems to be a better deal, it's a 14 piece not a 12 piece and I paid a dollar more.

edit: sorry for the unintentional repeating of this point, I now see this was mentioned a couple of replies earlier.
