Not a bad deal for this little inverter generator. Note that this is the newer version with the CO sensor. Lowest price ever based on 3C.
Just picked one up for ourselves in South Florida to deal with power outages (losing food is our biggest fear) and perhaps some camping.

Thank you member spektro2011 for finding this deal and posting it to the igen2200 thread.

Fuel consumption on both models is minuscule, up to 12 Hour Run Time on a 1. 2 Gallon Gas Tank. Yes, you may parallel two inverters to double the power even if one is larger than the other. An 1800 watt + a 2200 watt = 4000 running watts for example.

Thank you for this post. It saved me real money as I purchased this same model a couple weeks ago and was able to get the purchase price difference refunded.

Not likely. Starting demand for all three likely too much for this generator.

you should get a watt usage meter and measure the startup and normal load on each of your devices. from what i understand, fridges will consume 1000+ watts on startup but settle down at much lower wattages. i got watt meter and measured each devices before buying the correct generator.

It's close to the limit, but it will be able to do it for most refrigerators and freezers. A full size refrigerator will use about 500-800 W, depending on age and efficiency. Most chest freezers use 300-400 W. Combining those you'll hit 1300-2000 W depending on efficiency. Often the wattage used spikes when the compressor in the refrigerator or freezer starts up. As long as you plug them in one at a time, it should handle the load and surges you describe for all but the least efficient (and most power-hungry) refrigerators and freezers. This generator is rated for 1800 "running watts" and 2200 surge watts.

For safety if you have really old or inefficient units and will be near the max watts allowed (your units should have wattage labels from the manufacturer inside the door) you may decide to run the two refrigerators constantly and every hour or two, unplug one refrigerator and plug the freezer in instead. Alternating between the fridge and freezer would be my suggestion. The refrigerators should be on most of the time. The freezer should only need power every 4-6 hours for an hour or two to keep everything safe. As long as you keep switching the plugs every few hours and don't open the doors of the refrigerators or freezer, it should work to keep everything cold and safe.
