Excellent deal.

You don't need HP batteries for a large number of tools (lights, anything with brushed motor like older drills and saws, air pumps, heat guns, sprayers, chainsaws, outdoor equipment etc).

There is no extra runtime compared to HP batteries, 4 Ah is 4 Ah. If anything, HP batteries have lower runtime due to increased power output for tools that can use it.

In short, yes you will notice a difference. If you're using a brushless torque gun or maybe their cutoff wheel, you want the extra power for sure. You can get two 4AH HP batteries right now for 99 bucks.

There are a lot of guys on youtube reviewing this stuff, but here is one I linked the other day that does a good job explaining all of the differences:

Do the HP batteries matter if the brushless/HP tools don't have the extra prongs in the back of the battery compartment? I know some tools are "HP" but don't have the extra prongs, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference for the batteries.

Depends what you're doing, but if you're trying to break lug nuts and such, yes.

I have these I have brushless and they work great. The charge lasts forever! Got them free 2 BF ago.

If you all about the HP you probably running Dewalt or something better. These are perfect for the DYI and semi-pros.

I am an average homeowner that until recently didn't even realize the difference, to be honest. Confused I've had zero issues with mine until I got the high torque gun they offer and it wouldn't break lug nuts. If you're just using these to run drills, etc, I would say these are fine. Just my two cents though, if you can spare the 20 extra bucks though, get the HP in case you get some brushless stuff along the way.
