Picked this model up on the same deal last month, pretty impressed so far. Not missing my gas Toro at all.

Good deal. My 4 year old EGO mower's self propel died last week. I called EGO and because there are no service centers near me, they are sending me a new (probably refurb) mower. I haven't gotten it yet, but I have the shipping info. All that to say, their customer service and 5 year warranty (3 years on batteries) are top notch.

I want to replace our old gas mower and have been keeping an eye on deals. Is this a good one? It's priced a bit higher than the 80V Greenworks, but it does have twin blades.

Is there a noticeable difference between 56V/60V and 80V when it comes to cutting power, taller grass, etc?

I got GW 80v from Costco, but the quality control is pretty bad. The first one arrived with opened box and very large scratch on the deck. And the replaced one is even worse, the upper handle cannot be inserted into the bottom handle, since the plastic part is larger than the hole.

Wow, that's pretty bad for a relatively high-end mower... Thanks for sharing. I take it ego is better in this regard?

My greenworks arrived with a rubber sleeve on the bottom handle (left hand side, to protect the wires from the bare metal). Once I removed the black rubber sleeve from the lower handle, the upper handle slid right in place.

I bought that piece of crap too, the self-propelled feature died on the second use so I returned it to Costco and bought this EGO Select Cut. Great machine.

yeah, go Ego, I'm all in with this deal from a month ago, done dozen or so lawns with zero issues. I try to mow weekly on high and on dry days. I just use the bag on the twin blades if I get behind schedule. I'll use the ego blowers to spread any clippings I missed.

I am in the market for a mower and on the fence between gas and electric, and he mower I am going to replace is 15 years old and still runs great other than self propelled gear keeps failing.

When I hear you say a 5 year warranty is great I cringe coming from a 15 year.

The only big pro I can think of going to electric would be convenient to not have to run to gas station or anything.

Anyone care to give me more reasons it would be beneficial to go electric?

There's only 2 cons to electric mowers. Battery run time and cost to replace/buy new batteries. Ive had a kobalt 80v for 4 yrs now and its a beast. Of the 4 2.5 amp batteries 1 has pooped out on me. Best way to do it is slowly accumulate tool through deals on here.

Significantly quieter. No gas smell. No messing with oil. Better for environment.

This will likely last longer than the warranty, just like your 15 year mower did. The manufacture warranty is much longer than any gas powered mower you would've purchased 15 years ago.
Having said that, here are a few reasons I haven't seen mentioned yet:
No air filter to buy
No plug to buy
No end of season fuel or oil to empty
No beginning of summer tune up time on the engine (blades need sharpened just like all mowers)
Takes up less space (which I did not realize when I purchased mine) - Look at photos online - the handles fold up and telescope - you stand it on end - it has little bumpers to protect the mower.

I have also been trying to decide on a new Honda HRN216VKA or an EGO.

Currently I have a 140cc Troy Bilt that's been OK for the past 8 years but somewhat underpowered.

I recently got a Milwaukee battery powered trimmer as a gift (pretty awesome father in law) even though my trimmer was fairly new and I didn't need it. I've now used that Milwaukee several times and it's MUCH more enjoyable than the gas trimmer.
I say that because I wonder if I would be just as pleased with an EGO Mower.
I've watched way too many review videos and there are so many people who love them but just about the same amount of people who say the Honda (or a newer gas mower) is still better. 🤷 ♂️

The storage of the EGO is pretty awesome from what I've seen too.

Also, if you get an EGO with the 10 amp batteries, you can extend their warranty to 5 years.

Battery replacement is probably my biggest concern. $$$

Just 1 of the 10 amp batteries costs almost as much as the Honda mower. 😳
