Using the Fire Toolbox and my wife's 2021 model Kindle Fire HD, it was easy. Highly recommend using Fire Toolbox even if there are easier ways to get Google Play to load, because of all the extra functionality it gives you (lets you turn off certain amazon apps, replace the launcher, change the screensaver, etc)

Can't speak to a lot of google play apps working, but the few that we did, work fine.

Is it worth to get the HD10 Plus over HD10? Also is the Kids HD10 version same as HD 10 with 2 year warranty? can i install play store on Kids HD10 same as regular HD 10?

Can anyone comment on ease of sideloading Google Play on this tablet and functionality of apps from Play if it can be installed? Amazon reviews are all over the place when you search how it works with Play.

Yes, but you need to wait for them to check condition before u get the % off credit. The deal might be gone by then.

I've been tracking prices for these fire HD's and dont really get the price increases for aging technology. Yeah, yeah inflation and chip shortage blah blah doesnt feel like that really applies. Anyway, I will wait for these to go down for prime day or whatever.

I used the Fire Toolbox on this same model and had no trouble. Took just a few minutes to do, all apps I've tried to install from the Play Store have worked totally fine for me.

These are cool tablets for media and very light gaming but I have had 3 brick themselves right after warranty for zero reason. Google play is super easy to load and they are not bad for the price but just wish they would have lasted longer especially since I babied them with covers and stuff.

In my opinion it is worth it. The more RAM future-proofs it. You can get these same prices direct from Amazon. I would even go to the 64gb memory for $159.00USD As far as the kid's app's I'm not sure, but guessing you can. My wife has the HD 10+ 64 gb and she gets a lot of use out of it.

Keeps it from "slowing down" as easily. Useful for running games or even browsing the internet. 3GB in the normal and 4GB in the Plus makes it a somewhat worthwhile benefit. I don't think you'll see any monstrous improvements, but it will make it a more enjoyable (or less "annoying" experience) to use.
