Great for your fingernails and toenails. And foot buns
Ordered one. Now, can someone tell me what this is used for?

What's the purpose of a longer belt like that?

In general, longer length lets it run somewhat cooler if you really use it hard. Longer length belts are probably more expensive though.

Furniture restoration or other applications with tight spots where disassembly isn't an option. Metal workers also like this sort of sander, it seems. I guess it's a nice thing to have if you need it...but if you're not sure if you need it you probably don't.

I'm a contractor and an artist and bought this last time it showed up and I can't believe the number of times I've grabbed this over a corner sander or hand sander...

My studio mate used it to etch into copper...

This thing is useful and the replacement belts are inexpensive and come in many grips for a multitude of uses...

I have a few wall cracks. (Due to settling) would this make sense or just use sandpaper?

Would a Dremel be more practical seeing as it's a multi use tool?

Have this. Used it last week on a old banker/lawyer chair I'm restoring. Of all the tools I have, this is the only one that was able to efficiently remove the the old finish and stain from between the spindles. Had the tool over a year and this one use paid for itself. Saving me hours of frustration.
