Seems to be USB PD pass through. It has a USB-C port that you can plug a USB-C charger (not included) into and it will send that power to the laptop so you can both use the USB hub and power your laptop at the same time. Making it more dock like and potentially working for laptops with limited numbers of USB C ports. At this price point I wouldn't want to touch anything that included it's own power adapter. Any decent 60w usb-c adapter usually costs more than this on it's own.
HDMI 4k @ 30Hz
Wish it had ethernet jack....

Looks good but I don't trust the brand when it comes to hubs. The last Sabrent hub I used completely killed an external drive I had.

So it takes a USB C port, but doesn't give me any USB C ports. Argh.

(The one it has is for power only).

darn...I have such a hard time finding a hub that just has 4 USB C ports! (one for PD, one to the laptop, and two ports for USB C monitors)
I agree, and the way you're describing it, it should be called a 2-port hub as you'd only be able to use two of the ports (the other two are for the computer and power). So it's really just a splitter in that case.

I think we need a Thunderbolt hub to get multiple USB-C ports and the price goes way up. I don't even need them to go the full 10Gbps speeds, I just want a few devices plugged in.

I want to start buying USB-C devices, but I can't if I don't have a spot to plug them in!

I have seen a couple with 2 USB-C ports, but don't support power in (I don't know how necessary that is) for $40 or $50 on Amazon.

Was recently shopping for these. It was a PITA finding one that had 4k @ 60hz for cheap (and ethernet and usb-c out). Here's what I ended up getting in case anyone else is looking for that https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title

Exactly! you understand the situation...my laptop has two ports and one is used for charging...but i dont want to spend $200 on a thunderbolt hub for one extra USB C port!

I didn't realize that I was such an early adopter Frown

I have another of these from Aukey. It's constantly connected to the laptop. When power is disconencted, it discharges the laptop battery even when the laptop is off
Does this do the same?

Have you ever had issues with latency when connecting keyboard to a USB port? It's not much different from a USB A port.

of course it will do the same. it's the problem of your laptop, not the hub. your laptop shouldn't supply power to the hub when it's off. might be an option you can turn off on your laptop

Just a note If you're going to use the sd card readers a lot. This doesn't say it if it is a uhs-i or uhs-ii reader, so expect it to read/write at 30MB/s max. Uhs-i can write up to 104MB/s and uhs-ii can write up to 312MB/s depending on what your memory card supports. Given how large memory cards are these days, getting a uhs sd reader will save you lots of time.

Look up "USB Power Delivery". These are passthrough hubs. The last pic on each product page is pretty clear how it all goes together:Attachment 9958838

For anyone with a new Chromecast w/ Google TV, these hubs are a great way to add additional USB ports for keyboard/mouse/gaming controller peripherals, a hard drive to playback local media, etc. For the Chromecast, I would have preferred an ethernet port vs HDMI, but for $12-13 vs the ~$30+ that most go for, this is a great solution if you only need USB ports.
Thanks. So, the key here is "Pass through" that you can draw up to 60 watts only if the laptop charger is connected.
