ETA: didn't notice it was a refurb. I assume the discount is compared with the new price.
Be aware of the limitations of the UM Slim series of mini PCs from Minisforum:
- WiFi/BT card doesn't work with Linux (no driver support).
- USB3.2 Gen2 ports are on the front (eyesore if you connect wired devices to it).
- Will likely come with a single stick of DDR5 4800 memory which limits the performance.
- Need to use a free tool [youtu.be] to set CPU/GPU to max TDP settings to get full performance.
These limitations can be addressed by replacing WiFi/BT card if you need Linux support, using the USB4 port in the rear with a USB3.2 adapter/splitter if you want to avoid the eyesore when using USB3.2 devices, and buying a single 16GB DDR5 memory stick to get the full performance from the CPU/GPU if your machine comes with a single memory stick.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
