These tool batteries consist of 5 18650 cells in series. Each of these cell has a voltage range from 3.6V nominal (~50% SOC) to 4.2V when completely fully charged.
This confuses some folks who don't understand why these are called 18V or 20V or whatever batteries, but it's really simple. 3.6V x 5 = 18V.

I don't understand the hate... This is a really, really slick deal. Will you get an auto-oiled, build like a brick, fool-proof, 10yr warranty chainsaw? Nope. Then again, it's under $30 and includes two batteries. I mean, how can they even make money??

As for batteries being "sketch", sure, they will not contain the highest capacity A+ w/e cells. They will contain the cheapest, bottom of the barrel ones. Again, to be expected at this price. They should still work just fine.

You may consider it e-waste, but we're all drawn to the cheapest, lowest priced items, and that's what we're getting here. Hard to please everyone.

Something to consider, for me. Every mini chain saw that I have had with an auto oiler. The reservoir has leaked and caused a mess

But have you used it and is it worth $22?

Can you use these batteries for other tools from other brands? Batteries alone are worth the $26.

Prior posts indicate these batteries will work with Mikita tools... I have neither, so I personally can't confirm.

Got one to throw in the camper. Have a (very expensive) Makita to keep safe at home now.

I have this thinking it would basically be disposable for the summer. It has proved me wrong. It is on season 2 and is still a workhorse. It's great to quickly grab for tree branch trims. I have done limbs far thicker that what it is rated for. I may have a unicorn device, but it's been nothing but a positive experience.

I have one of these. Works well for cutting branches. I was able to take down 2 big shrubs where the trunk was probably 8 inches thick.

pulled the trigger, even if its more expensive than previous. The two 2ah batteries i can use for my hand tools is enough of a deal.

This just looks like E-waste to me. Those batteries have to be sketch.

What does "5 pcs" mean on the batteries?
EDIT: Project Farm reviewed basically an identical version as the one in this post, seems like a handsaw is enough for me. If I was doing many 3-5" logs I'd get a makita/dewalt or similar cordless mini saw.

No. They overheat in no time. It stops working till it cools down. Useless

I know what batteries they use, but "5 pcs" isn't put on dewalt, ridgid tool batteries.

2 batteries pulled my trigger. I have an old black & decker alligator chainsaw that from day 1 was leaky from the auto-oiler. The fun factor of chomping the branches like a robosaur far outweighs the leaks.

This unit says it's oil-free, though, so how often realistically, or at all, do I need to squirt some bar chain oil on this?

Likely every time you use it. Or you should anyway.

Same. I've got a Ryobi and I believe another name brand pole saw. Both leak. And I'd say that "automatic" might be misleading. As far as I know you need to push the primer bulb to force oil into the chain.

Regardless, I'm 0 for 1 on these off brand in terms of saws. ....and here I am still considering it at this price.
