Laugh all you want. The 256 is manageable for many depending on its intended use.
people defending these storage upgrade requirement prices are why apple gets away with it lmao
Defending M4 chip with 256 GB has same energy as putting 70mph tires on a Ferrari because "most people never drive that fast anyway"

99% of people will be more than fine with this amount of storage. Most people don't use their computers for anything besides emails, web browsing, paying bills and other basic tasks.

This is a FANTASTIC upgrade for my mother (I think she's on a 2019?), and easily double the storage she's historically required

i love this comment. it's very tailored.

"manageable" "for many" "depending" "intended use" can't argue with those parameters

you could literally say that for 64GB of storage too, lol.

i thought the surface had expandable nvme slot? or did they take that away?
and sadly, apple, is the leader.... so other companies sorta have to follow suit... even if apple's standards are trash

I'm still on a 8/256GB Macbook M1, and with iCloud optimized storage I still have 100+GB available. Most of my work is non-games. Office 365 + web + light video and image editing, [davinci resolve], + affinity photo 2. For that I have an external usb drive. Sandisk creator or similar

Um..No. The analogy does not work here. HD size does not have any bearing on the performance of the machine (unless we are talking swap space, which point to a larger issue with a RAM deficiency).

It would be more fitting to make the analogy to trunk space. Larger trunk on a Ferrari, the more it can take advantage of its performance features?!? Nope.
