also, the G5 uses 60% more electricity then the G4, that's a big fail by LG in my opinion for it to use that much more electricity! The electric rate by me has gone up about 35-40% the past 2 years so that makes a difference when the Tv uses 60% more power... most won't even notice that the G5 is 15% brighter but a huge power hog..

The new G5/C5 are power hogs!! Here are the #'s between the 83" G4 vs G5. Your paying a lot more electricity for that extra 10-15% more brightness!! Keep in mind when your watching hdr/dolby vision or gaming your going to be at MAX consumption..
G4
Power Consumption (Max)233 W
G5
Power Consumption (Max)380 W
That is 63% more electricity used on the G5 when watching most things in HDR/Dolby Vision/Gaming or when you have it's brightness turned up.. The C5 vs the C4 is just as bad.
I would not go by that. rtings is a very trusted site for actual real world specs on tv's that many people use here, go to there links, scroll all the way down and you will see the max power consumption as recorded by them. Of course, Lg is not going to put the "real" max #'s but use some the "avg" yearly which means they put it on eco mode to get that # to make it look good kind of what some car manufactures do with the ev range on the cars when they are always less range then stated. I trust rtings actual #'s then what Lg is peddling:
