This is based on zen 5 architecture and provides decent cpu performance and 5070 is also decent!

A note tho both the chips are power locked, if you could get a 5070TI for 100-150 more go for it that's equivalent to unlocked mobile rtx 4080 in performance

Gigabyte does not have the best reputation for quality, but I have no first hand experience.What software are you using for editing? Personally, I use RawTherapee which doesn't have any GPU acceleration. It's CPU and RAM dependent. But most other software should benefit from the 5070 which is a pretty powerful GPU. The 100% sRGB will be good for color reproduction and 400 nits is plenty for indoors. IPS won't have the same blacks as OLED but depending on what the edited images will be viewed on (i.e. if it also IPS) it might actually be better to get what you want out of the image.

Picked this up for my daughter to evaluate for college. Good value for the specs, esp on sale. But we returned it as the wifi was unreliable in that unit. It's replaceable however. There is also about 40GB of AI related software and models baked into the installation. Don't know how useful those features actually are as I could not get many of them to work.

Not a deal at $1300.
We've had 5070s with OLED displays around this price or lower. This should be $1000-1100 to be a deal.

Unimpressive port selection. There is no dedicated DisplayPort, it's part of USB-C 4. I would prefer second USB-C 4 instead of USB-A 2.0. Battery is only 76 Wh, probably to keep weight down. RGB backlight on keyboard is limited to 1 zone. Some reviews praise quiet fans during light use, but complain about screen bleed. Well, at least sRGB coverage is 100%.
