Marketing. Without the artificial coloring it's unlikely these would be orange colored, and they figure that doesn't match the flavor. Guessing that by the presence of both red and yellow, this would be clear or gray otherwise.

I don't agree with it, but I'm sure they had their reasons for paying more to pump these full of artificial colorings.

not commenting on the efficacy of the product, but the internet MD's BS about artificial dyes (used in nuuuuuumerous countries, including the EU, albeit sometimes under different names) causes cancer. Thanks for the tip, RFK Jr.
