I looked into getting a replacement for my damaged Bialetti Moka Jr (ca. 1990s) a couple years back. Melted the handle and couldn't replace it (pin wouldn't punch out), though it's supposed to be (newer ones anyway). Looked at the Bialettis in Target and it was made in Romania, then later, again, made in China.
Ended up getting a 6- and 3-cup IMUSA am very satisfied with it, especially for the price. Originally got another brand from TJ Maxx but the spout dribbled miserably. I was sceptical of the IMUSA but it works great.

Interesting, point the Junior appears to be an inferior product. The photos on Woot and description on Bialetti's website show the Moka Express being made in Italy.

For the price, it'd be worth it taking a flyer on it - I guess. But I'm not in the market for another moka pot. I don't need to start shopping at Woot, either. :-)

* The Moka Cafe (non-octagonal top) is made in Romania under license, the Moka Express is made in Italy (Q&A on Target's site)

Use fresher coffee. Crema comes from co2 in the coffee. After roasting and opening the bag, co2 is released and less fresh coffee will have less crema.

How fresh is your bean? You gotta use freshly roasted bean

Crema with a moka pot is always very low. You can try switching to a different brand of ground coffee, but it's unlikely to make that much of a difference. Maybe it's obvious, but also make sure you get ground coffee that is fine enough for a moka pot (it should say it on the label of the package).
If you want proper crema, you need a proper espresso machine and freshly ground coffee with a legit coffee grinder.

I'm not sure I understand your comment. Are you against Italians making aluminum products?
