Tip: you can run this off of USB power if you buy an appropriate USB to barrel jack cord.

I bought several of these for $12.99. Anyone know how they compare? $7.99 seems like a great price. Is the main difference that the Litewave (7.99 one) is in plastic housing vs. metal housing in the $12.99 one?

Same here. I also see this one is "unshielded". Is that an issue?

For residential applications unshielded is perfectly fine. Both should be similar performance, the metal one is a more premium quality housing, shielded connectors, and has some additional QoS features, but if you aren't specifically looking for those features you will not notice a difference.

I think so. This is also much more compact which is what I needed for my network cabinet!

This is plastic in case it bothers anyone. Personally I think it's a great deal.

I bought TL-SF1005D a couple of years ago. It is also plastic. Works like a charm and have not had any problems yet. Price is $9.99 .

I've had this command stripped to the frame of my desk for I don't even know how long. Chugging away. Wish I could find a cheapo 2.5gb switch that isn't phony reviewed on amazon... I'm nothing without fakespot. I just need to turn one 2.5gb ethernet cord in to 2 outputs.. and don't want to pay $50+ for a recognizable brand with 5 ports. Sigh.

Is this better than the UGreen one? I bought that a week ago and it's fast and very power efficient. My Sonoff meter can't pick up its power usage. I just don't like the plastic case.

I did pick up a 8 port managed switch for like $15 but it's some random Chinese brand. I will say it is working perfectly fine as a non IT user. the brand was goalake but I was also looking at steamemo. probably either or is just as good as the other.

bought this like 2 weeks ago for $13. it went to $10 a day after I bought it. Now 8$. it uses less than 3w of power. I use in my entertainment room with an ap, desktop, xbox, and tv hanging off of it. dumb switch that does what I want it to.
