shocking. you mean a slickdeals staffer would post garbage for us to buy?!

of all the things im going to cheap out on... a cieling fan is not one of them. its a lot of work to reinstall if its a bad product, and im not trusting some temu factory to make a motor i hang above my living quarters, let alone make a product that is nicely balanced..

The trick is to find the temu or aliexpress store this came from and buy it there for even less money.

"A lot of work". Have you installed ceiling fans before? It's not that hard unless it's your first time.

Ceiling fan is not as hard as you think. Just need the right electrical box to retrofit. Lowes / HD has them, I just did mine this year for the first time and it's easy, just turn off and make sure the line is not LIVE!

Amazon seems to be getting flooded with these "new generation" lightweight plastic DC motor fans that are controlled by the same DC motor controller with BT (not Wi-Fi) app. This will render any previously dual-wired ceiling fan setup useless - does not need a separate wire for the light, and cannot be used with any wall mounted speed-control switches. That means the handheld remote control is your sole means of controlling the fan. While the BT app (on the surface) sounds like a nice idea, it's just proving too troublesome/impractical for me to grab my phone, open the app, go to either the light or fan page, to turn on the light or set the fan at a lower speed. While on the SPEED subject, these DC controllers aren't calibrated properly to the fan. The lowest speed setting seem to be too high. So for those installing these in bedrooms and wanting a gentle breeze to sleep at night, it's going to be too high. I am forced to run the fan BACKWARDS (winter mode) as a workaround - and my existing Wi-Fi wall mounted (Alexa connected) fan switch is now useless. If you just need a simple efficient fan that is quiet, do not mind the seemingly always-on-high settings, this fan is for you. In fact, there's even a cheaper option with a coupon now! $35 for a 42" version! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DBHKMWV1

lol. lets try this one more time. read everything, not just what you want to read....

"a lot of work to reinstall if its a bad product."

read that again. a lot of work to RE install IF ITS A BAD PRODUCT.

Point being, this will be a bad product. and you will have to reinstall it. which is a lot of work and time and money wasted.

ive installed dozens of fans between the places ive lived and my apartments i upkeep. i prefer to not do it over and over again just to save a few bucks.

I bought two of these for outside. They're definitely cheap, and I know if the LEDs die on them I won't be able to find replacements. They don't move much air even on speed 6, but they're fine for what I need them for. It is nice that they integrate with Home Assistant (but only if you have your BLE less than 15-20ft from the fans, I had to build a BLE Proxy), and you can pair multiple fans to a single remote.
