These are typically $23ish. This is a good deal for a pocket thrower.

Sofirn SC18, ~$6 shipped. New shopper price + $2 off code: CDUS01. Aliexpress searches arent the best.

SC18 only downside I've read from reviews is 6500k but the SC13 has 5000k 519a option.

I got Acebeam Pokelit AA last week ~$9 (arrived 2-3 days). No direct charging/magnet tailcap but the rechargeable battery is removable and there is a usbc port on the battery. 5000k is perfect by far get brightest flashlight Ive owned vs others that take 2xAA.

Do you have 6500k Pokelit, how does it compared to 5000k? Considering H16 headlamp in 6500k or try different brand.

Yes - several of each. The 6500k definitely throws farther and has a giant, crisp hot spot. The 5000k is floodier and has better CRI. I tend to use the 5000k indoors, and take the 6500k as a pocket light when I leave the house.
On the Pokelits, I've noticed that the tints are a bit of a lottery. I set 4 of them up for a wall beam shot (2 x 6500, 2 x 5000), and they looked like 6500k, 6000k, 5500k and 5000k.
I have their H17 (very warm 4000k) but haven't used the H16. I imagine the QC is better on those higher priced models than on the Pokelits. Haven't heard any complaints about their headlamps.

I have a version of this which is pretty garbage. A lot of these are made by the same manufacturer and are have poor quality control. The light quality is poor and not really focused. I would doubt this would hold up with 6 months of daily use.Not worth the aliexpress lottery and the cost. At $5, maybe worth taking a gamble for a throwaway device. Not at this price

Hmm. The experts rate it very well, it tests well, and it's well-liked in the flashlight enthusiast community. There's only one version of the SR12 -- are you sure we're talking about the same light?

Not sure what you mean by "AliExpress lottery" -- this is sold by the Sofirn Official Store.

Acebeam, Sofirn, Wurkkos, Wuben, Thrunite, Lumintop...few other brands w similar items all made in China. Sold by manufacturer on Aliexpress lacks QC? Exact same items on Amazon sometime double...maybe your extra playing for taxes/shipping/overhead. Only other brand thats better QC is Olight and they use their own proprietary battery. Olight prices are debatable since its China as well. At those prices more justified if Olight is USA.

There are no versions of this you have one or you do not. There is no gamble with Sofirn as they are the manufacturer of Sofirn lights and they make great long lasting and durable lights. Thare known for solid and fine builds that almost don't seem possible at the price sold. Have no idea what you bought but what you say does not apply.
