Yeah me either glad I read through this thread. Pretty crazy how they sold out. This is why I buy Tekton stuff now. They are working out move all their manufacturing back to the US and they even have a dedicated section on their website showing what they make in the USA.

Did not know they were sold; guess SK is no longer a preferred brand of mine. Crap.

Where are these made?

SK Tools recently got purchased by someone else. The amount of "authenticity advertising" could point to attempts to mislead the buyer.

Yep. SK moved all manufacturing to China. There might still be a couple of hand tools made in the US as relabeled SK.

I bought a SK small head ratchet last December on their site during a sale. Thought it was US overstock. Nope. China. Gear broke, stripped, locked up working on a Subaru engine bay.

I do like the 15 degree offset on these, tho. Had to bend a couple of my Kobalt ones getting at some bolts in a remote location. Not sure about warranty repair/replacement. I'll just assume that isn't going to happen now.

for casual users any wrench is fine, but if youre working on rusty stuff that you can't risk stripping i would only buy the wrenches that are designed to bite into the bolt like the mac RBRT, craftsman overdrive (which is a RBRT clone btw), icon non slip, etc.

SK isn't what it what was, especially since Wayne left. My vintage SK 3/8ths roto-ratchet (before they became cheap) is my favoriate ratchet of all time.

That said I still love and use my circa 1960's through 1980's SK tools, still top notch compared to today. Whatever today is who knows.

They had a great sale back a few years ago blowing out U.S. made stuff. Wish I'd bought twice as much.

It's a shame what happened to SK. But let's not fool ourselves, gentlemen. Nowadays pretty much all ratcheting wrenches are made in either Taiwan or China. Even Hazet and Stahlwille come out of Taiwan. Now one could make an argument that the Taiwanese wrenches are superior and would probably be correct. But for this price, you're going to get what you get. And maybe it's not a bad deal for what it is. Just don't be fooled that you're getting the SK of old, and it's all good.
