they also have an 8gb ram, 256gb m.2 for $79.99.

these make for some great proxmox nodes. i have n150s that have worked amazing for what i need.

n97 is slightly better but uses more power.

Liar/ignorant: it may not be every model but anyone who cares should look it up see firmware injected malware in certain acemagic mini pcs (same company as kamrui).

I would recommend wiping the OS and reinstalling windows. but this is something i do on all laptops i buy doesnt matter who makes it. just to remove all the bundled software they add.

A quick google search says you are lying. It was software based malware. Not firmware injected. I would love to see a even semi credible source showing what you say is true though.

Are you a member of the CCP? It looks like all your posts are about malware in these cheap Chinese boxes.

Yup. Just make sure you use your own source for the windows install and not the factory restore the machine comes with. I assume you already know this but this is more for anyone else reading it that doesnt.

They absolutely sometimes come with firmware spyware preinstalled. AceMagic and KamRui https://youtu.be/Pi0_wzdz7aY

bro the chinese manufacturers that purposely add spyware LOVE the western white knights who say they are safe. Anyhow, many Chinese mini pc brands are totally safe (no firmware injection malware) but it is always best to reinstall windows to wipe out any potential threats and general bloatware (however unnecessary with major brands like beelink)

im starting to think people dont know the difference between an infected windows installation and a bios firmware level infection.

This is software level, wiping the drive and reinstalling a copy of windows 11 downloaded from MS would completely remove the malware.

Im not saying they didnt ship a few mini pcs with software malware. im saying they is no unremovable bios level malware.

Well. I agree it's overblown. But Chinese hardware should not be trusted. There are report as recent as a few weeks ago where webcams were loaded with spyware and they could not be removed. Always use caution and don't do any anything important on non-branded computers. You will regret a lot more than $100 you save.
