If you're running current generation games and cutting-edge stuff, this isn't the phone for you.
That said, our family has two of these and three more Motorola's all from 2024. This is our third generation of Motorola phones. They all work great, have been reliable, and receiving regular updates. I'm on Android 15 and the Motorola software is actually pretty useful and unintrusive, and I hate bloatware. Call quality is great, photo quality is good, and the interface is snappy. Battery life is excellent (on all of them). If you're not a heavy user you can get several days out of the phone without charging.
On the downside, it's a giant phone. Just- so huge. They're all big, now, but this one feels extra big. If it matters to you it can also be challenging to find a case. Otterbox didn't even make a case for ours phones when we got them. Lastly, it won't run current AAA phone games. I run Clash of Clans and a couple others just fine, but this is not a gaming phone by any means, it's a phone phone.
Hope that helps.

Moto G Play is bottom of the barrel. The 2023 is really slow although the 2024 is not too awful. Still not good but not as bad.

The Moto G Stylus is Motorola's best phone on the Moto G lineup and has a noticeably faster SoC.

Any thoughts on this phone, from the SlickDeals community? This would seem to be a good/great deal, for what should be a reasonably good phone, that shouldn't be outdated. Right?

if anyone is familiar with this phone and would like to share some helpful feedback about it, it would definitely be appreciated.

And thank you, to the OP, for posting this deal on here, for others to see.

I have the 2022 version of this phone and my partner has the 2024. Both working "just fine." Both are 6/128 but only the 2024 is 5G. We don't do much data d/l or video, so can't speak to that. Stylus is handy for us fat fingered folk. Decent camera, screen. No NFC, wireless charging, other bells/whistles. But worth the money for simple requirements. We've both had a couple of Motos for 6+ years and they've been reliable.

I got a moto g play for a similar cost to use as a test device and i wish i never bought it. It's intentionally slow. Everything about it is slow and unbearable.

Define outdated. Motorola's software support is very short so the phone has limited Android security updates left.

Performance-wise, I find it pretty decent. Granted I have the Metro 6GB/128GB version and I mainly just use it for emulation (up to PS2). I use an iPhone for my DD.

There was a discussion in the other post about this before it went out of stock. Note that this is the 4GB RAM model and not the 6 GB RAM that other carriers have sold. And this model will get security updates through September of 2026. It has all the 5G bands needed for compatibility with T-Mobile's 5G network. Apparently this model has good viewing angles and is overall an okay performer. That was pretty much a summary of everything that was said in the other posting.

Note there's also a higher end Motorola available for $180 if that's in your price range.

I have this phone through Boost and it's been solid, It's only receiving app updates now and I'm replacing it with the Moto G Power 2025.

I've had this for a year and it's great phone. I tired Samsung A16 (2024, similar specs) but this one feels like a flagship compared to that one. Only issue I have is dim display in bright sun. This particular model has 4gb, but has RAM boost so 4gb should be ok, though I have the 6gb version. It's worth $100 for new AND unlocked. It has Android 14 max, but mine got a July security patch so it's not outdated, better than some newer release phones that cost more...unless you really want Android 15, which in that case QVC has a Moto G 2025 64gb for $35...lesser specs but newer and cheaper.

As far as I can see, this phone features both a headphone jack and a microSD card slot.

The screen is larger on the 2023... I have a 2023 Moto G Stylus and a 2024 and still use the 2023 as my daily driver.
