The prices on these Acer Swift Go laptops seem tantalizing, but I have to caution folks on them. They come in two varieties: the "AI" model that has a touchscreen and another model that has an OLED. I purchased an OLED model a few months ago.

The first problem with mine (which seems to affect other Swift models as well) is that the cooling fan goes to 100% whenever the charger is plugged in. The only way you can charge silently is if the laptop is completely off. Don't even think about hanging out in a quiet coffee shop or university library for hours while plugged in.

The second issue that has been a recent development for me is that the screen randomly won't turn on. It happens both when waking the laptop out of standby as well as turning it on from a complete shutdown. The remedy for me has been to push the battery reset button on the backside with a SIM tool for ~30 seconds, after which the display returns on the following bootup.

I haven't found long-term solutions or answers to either of these issues but plenty of others griping about them. The display problem is intermittent and "solvable" by resetting the battery, so I haven't bothered to send it in. Acer has a 2-month return window on ebay, which I was out of when the display issues started.

I would not recommend the Swift Go line of laptops at all until these issues are addressed. I assume these problems I've mentioned are the reason such good deals exist on these laptops, due to so many people returning them. Mine was basically brand new with zero signs of use.
