Vevor [vevor.com] has a 8 Gallon Vevor Stainless Steel Double Keg Alcohol Distilling Kit for $88.90 - $8 w/ Coupon Code: WBTJFE = $80.90. Shipping is Free

Details:
  • This alcohol still provides you with a fermentation capacity of 8 gallons. Boiler barrel: 13.8" x 13.8" (35 x 35 cm), condenser: 7.9" x 4.3" (20 x 11 cm), thumper keg: 7" x 4" (18 x 10 cm), which can ferment up to 30 liters of raw materials. Perfect for family-together parties. All parts are made of food-grade materials, including silicone, stainless steel, and copper.
  • Rapid Cooling: The distillery kit adopts an open cooling method. The copper coil has rapid thermal conductivity and has a large contact area with the coolant, providing a lower distillation temperature. A circulating water pump is attached to save cooling water. The rubber pad under the condenser can insulate and accelerate cooling.
  • Easy to Operate: The alcohol still kit has a real-time thermometer on the lid, with a dual-display of Celsius and Fahrenheit, which is convenient for monitoring the temperature of the wine during the distillation process. You can put spices in the thumper keg to add flavors to your alcohol, improving its taste to your satisfaction without the professional flavoring technology.
  • Durable & Tight Seal: Unlike regular tubes, we use food-grade silicone tubes, which are flexible and tough, and are not easy to bend to ensure a good seal. Four buckles and silicone gaskets inside the lid help to seal tightly. In addition, the package has a one-way exhaust valve, which can be easily used during the fermentation process.
  • Versatile Application: There are many ways to use our alcohol still kit. According to your preferences, you can make Whiskey, Wine, Brandy, Rum, Tequila, Vodka, Water Distiller, Ethanol, Essential Oils, etc. The thickened bottom allows various heating methods, including gas stoves, firewood, electric ceramic heaters, etc.

Interesting that SD pushes an item which is completely illegal to use in all 50 states.

What if I told you that you could access the internet outside of the USA?

Mind. Blown.

Actually it looks like some US states allow it. Probably similar to weed, which is legal in most states out west, yet don't see any deals on it on SD.

Home distillation of spirits for personal consumption is legally allowed in countries like New Zealand, some European nations such as Austria, Norway, Finland, and Russia (with varying regulations), and in the United States it's only legal to distill for personal consumption in Alaska, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Missouri. In most other countries, home distillation of alcohol is illegal or requires a license for commercial production, and you should always verify local laws before attempting to distill.

So the fact it's legal to purchase in 4 states is really no different than the other YMMV posts for microcenter or Walmart deals slickdeals always teases us with lol, for the handful of people who can actually use it and do it.

Also you can use a still for other purposes than alcohol consumption - making essential oils, distilled water, ethanol, etc.

But personally I'll just stick with beer brewing - less chance of going blind if I get it wrong.

Still waiting for SD to do bong deals which is completely legal here in California.

Note that distilling is still against federal law in every state, just like weed.

I had no idea it was illegal to make alcohol... I thought the prohibition days were over.

You can legally brew beer (thanks Jimmy Carter!) but most states and federally it's still illegal to distill alcohol - mostly because of safety reasons. If you brew beer wrong you just get some nasty tasting beer. If you distill spirits wrong then you get methanol in it which can kill you.

I wonder if driving a car is statistically more dangerous.

I remember going to a carnival 20 years ago in Oregon, this was before weed was legalized, and I saw these people who had a pop up canopy selling bongs. I told the police about it and at the time they said, it's not illegal to sell them or own them, it's what they put inside them is what's illegal. Boy things have changed since then.

And tax reasons. The federal tax rate is $13.50 a gallon for spirits, plus state and local taxes too.
