It's a little large for them. My vehicles have retention inserts inside the cupholder, and it barely fits in the top, resting on the retention mechanism. It might fit if I shoved it down, but I would say no.
That aside, mine is also my favorite water bottle now.
Target has an exclusive version of the 40oz that does fit in a standard cupholder, as for this one it does not in my experience
