This is a great unit for those who are curious. Also a great price for a dual hose, inverter, heat pump unit. I didn't one of these to the lobby of our business to help in the summer and winter from being so cold in there, and it runs like a top. Is also very quiet compared to other portable units.

Mshield (the ionizer) can be turned on/off. It doesn't just force you to ionize all the time.

I have this unit and it has negative pressure issues and also humidity problems. some units also have issues with ridding of the condensate so you have to deal with a bucket.

I have the non duo version which had humidity issues also but no condensate issue.

But if you know how to read, the majority of those bad reviews have to do with units that came damaged, probably during shipping.

Or they're complaining about stuff like water drainage issues, which is due to the humidity of the places they chose to live in.

Or "I Had to hire a contractor to carry it up the stairs and install it." That's not Midea or Costco's fault.

I bought this unit Sunday at regular price of $449.99. It was the only one left with no other inventory anywhere near me. But, I'm returning this as the window unit with same specs are marked down to $269.97.

Where did you get that info? I recall that was only for Ozone generating air purifiers. MShield function has to be turned on manually. You don't have to run it.
