This isn't the same model that is sold at Costco so people are aware. I don't know exactly what the difference is, but I imagine functionally you won't see a difference

I bought one of these and then a month later had a recall notice issued to me for mold. I was planning on replacing all the window units in the house with these!!

Costco wants $389 for that here. No such luck for me on the price.

Hello There. Thank you for posting your review on the Midea 8,000 BTU 115-Volt U Plus Shaped Smart Inverter Window Air Conditioner. These units available for sale are updated and not part of the recall. These new units include a drain hole and black drain plugs made from new materials. This allows for proper drainage while maintaining the product's efficiency and performance. Have a good day!-Midea Customer Support

Nah, they're almost always cheaper in store. They say "free shipping" but they always seem to tack on a shipping charge for online orders (well, for big items).

I bought one from AMZN earlier this year for $17 more. Though heavy, it was easier to install than I had expected. So far, it has worked well to cool an average-size bedroom and is quiet enough to allow uninterrupted sleep.

Same here. Was on sale for $289, which I swore the sign said 'til the 24th, but was in the other day and it was back to $389. Will wait for after summer clearance.
