Solid review from zeroair. Keep in mind that the light was $30 when he reviewed it and still got really good reviews. Now almost half that price.

https://zeroair.org/2021/12/08/so...ht-review/

The most important part of that review for me is the sustained lumen graph on high.

There is no buck driver on the light, that's to be expected at this price range. It's a fet running it. What this means in practice is that as battery voltage decreases, so does the output. You get 700+ lumens for 20 minutes. This is bright. When night riding MTB in the forest, having 500 lumens on my helmet has been enough for me. I sometimes also add another 500 lumen sustained light on the handlebars.

After an hour of sustained high mode, you still get over 500 lumens from the light.

Great thermal design for a light this size to be able to keep up these values on high, and the efficient SST40 helps too.

The 1700 turbo lumens will probably last 30 secs or so until the light starts ramping down. It's not usable long term. The 700-500 lumens is.

Seems like a great deal. What method are you using to mount a light like this to your MTB?

$2.55 duty fee should probably be included in price as that's not state-dependent like taxes.

I just got charged 2.55 duty fee too, but no taxes charged where normally I'd pay state and local taxes

I like the Sofirn SP31 V3.0 because it has a buck driver - to maintain constant current (and thus brightness) as the battery is drained.

Good deal, but the lights with Luminus SST's I own all have that ugly slightly greenish tint.

If you can afford to spend another 5 bucks, wait for a deal on a Wurkkos FC11C with a nice Nichia LED and buck driver.

I use the 5000k version of the SST 40 and it's pretty good. I don't see any greenish tint. The Nichia tops off at 1200 lumens vs 2000 lumesn on the SST

They want Americans to know what we have to pay now because of the current political environment.

Some flashlights come from their U.S. warehouse
