Ya beat me to it. I constantly have to talk myself down from excellent deals like this. Like you, I don't take away from people who can and do enjoy purchases like this. Heck, I got three of those $10 Walmart knives just to keep in the glovebox… and a better fixed blade on the trunk.

There's a video describing the scenario. They had some issues with the first run's QC, so they pulled them and sent them back to Spyderco to fix. These new ones are apparently better, and they're offering an extra discount to do right by their customers. Seems pretty reasonable to me.
And yeah, it's even smoother action lol
