Despite my skepticism in the previous post, I'm getting one. I like that the beam is focusable. And the battery is removable, which allows me to test its capacity. If the battery is subpar, I can always use a real 18650. What can't be replaced, however, is the LED module. This expert review claims that the actual output is only around 500 lumens! I'd recommend that you read it in its entirety. He gives it 3 stars, which isn't bad for a $6.50 focusable flashlight.

Based on my experience with many cheap Chinese flashlights, my guess is the real output is only 1000-2000 lumens. And just as bad, it probably uses a fake 18650 battery. One of my flashlights came with a battery labeled 9000mAh (!!!). As far as I know, it's impossible to fit that capacity into an 18650. Even the larger 21700 only holds 5000mAh. Well, I tested the battery and the real capacity is only 114mAh!!! That's less than 1% of its stated capacity and only ⅐ the capacity of a tiny AAA battery!!! Several other 18650s weren't that bad, but they were all still less than 1000mAh.

This is not a slam against Chinese flashlights or batteries. They're more than capable of making quality stuff. My Sofirn IF23 and IF23 Pro pretty much match their stated specs. And they both came with 21700 batteries which also tested around the stated 5000mAh. Bottom line, don't trust unrealistic lumen claims. And don't trust flashlights without removable batteries.

Don't worry, pretty sure there is an extra zero in there. Even more illegal, I watched a video review, of a guy giving his honest review of the product he received free, and he said it was 990,000 lumens!

If you like zoomie flashlights, I still think the sofirn s11c is one of the best.

LOL- just to compare, I received a Streamlight pro-grade flashlight as a gift from work and it's 750 lumens...and it's freakin' BRIGHT. I feel 9000 lumens would look like one of those WWII spotlights they used to find bombers.

Yes, lying is legal.

Or, nothing ever happens to them for lying, anyways, so same difference?

edit:

And there is generally no law against 9000 lumen lights, however they'd also need about 90 watts of power and most of that gets emitted as heat, and so to have a true 9000 lumen light in that small of package would probably have the battery last under ten minutes and it would overheat even before that.

900 lumens is more likely for a light like this, and yet even that amount of light would make for a good flashlight, especially at the price. Just take their lumen ratings with a grain of salt.
