has anyone tried these before? I bought another smoker a few months ago and like it, but the whole fan + tubing + using a torch just becomes a lot to add some smoke in a drink. This one seems to use a rechargeable battery to spark the wood chips and basically some everything without all the pieces. ordered one at the sale price, but anyone try these types before?

I've not used this one but I have the same style where you just torch the top (no tube/fan). It's easy, fast, and works great.

We have the manual kit, it doesn't work 100% of the time. This seems like a for sure way. Look for other similar items, there are less $$$ ones. Will try the square one instead of round smoker.

When I add it to the cart, it reverts to the $39.99 price and so I can't seem to activate this deal. It's weird because the price shows as $27.06 on the item page, but shows as $39.99 in the cart. The 50% off code works, though. So, it comes to $21.76 with tax.

I have one very similar to this. It works well for small portions, if you find a container to fit the top so the smoke does not leak out you can do larger batches of cheese, shrimp, etc. These works by creating a small electrical arc, to ignite the wood chips for a few seconds which is enough to smolder the wood. You can repeat the steps every 30 seconds or so. It's pretty nifty device if you want a small amount of smoke added to your food or drinks.
