*FAIR WARNING*

Dopesplay is a known brand of lapdocks, touchscreens, and portable monitors. For those that don't know, lapdocks are basically laptops with no actual operating system or components other than a screen, keyboard, and mouse pad. You can use them with certain brands of Android phones to use their desktop modes and turn your cell phone into a laptop like device (I use this with my Samsung all the time and it is amazing).

Anyway, after looking at the reviews for this portable monitor, you can see that it is a mix of reviews for both a lapdock AND this monitor. that means that the seller pulled a slimy move and replaced their product description and images with a totally different product at some point so not all of the reviews were even made for this monitor.

Buyer beware. I'm not saying this is a bad deal or that you will get a bad product but when I see stuff like this, it is a red flag for me

I wouldn't even say that they are necessarily a knock off brand. They have some decent products and are a common competitor to brands like Uperfect and Nexdock. What I will say is that I lose a lot of respect for brands who establish themselves but still need to pull a bait and switch like this in an attempt to try and legitimize a product purely with the intention of tricking us potential customers.

You are definitely right in the sense that Amazon has seemed to lose a lot of their trustworthiness over the years as they have become too big to control their own shopping experience. The prevalence of sellers and their ability to constantly try to scam customers by exploiting Amazon loopholes is the exact reason that I tend to analyze reviews so much before making a purchase. I'm just glad my feedback is helping others to make a more well informed decision.

The main downside is the 250 nits. I have a similar portable monitor with 300 nits, and I already find that quite dim.

So for what it's worth you are correct there is some sketchy things going on here, but it's not quite what you think (at least not for sure). This has something like 8-10 out of stock variations on it and that's where the other reviews are ccoming from. But if you go to the reviews, you can limit them to only the monitor reviews for the unit in stock.

Also Lapdocks are a thing I have wanted to exist for a long time, but for my desktop. I enjoy working in the recliner with a "laptop" but don't really care about it being an actual laptop necessarily lol. Very cool.

How's this compare to the BIGASUO one that was like $35 on Prime Day?

My question is "why was this posted as this has been this price since June 4th"?

LOL, I thought "lapdocks" was a typo until you explained it!

I checked that before posting and just looked again and only see the one product listing on the page. I tried the review filter you recommended and it didn't change the number of reviews. Maybe it is because I'm using the app and not a computer?

And yeah, lapdocks are pretty awesome. I have a Nexdock 360 and a Lenovo M14T touchscreen monitor I use for Samsung DeX and it is an extremely powerful and well developed tool. That being said, if your desktop is near your recliner and you don't mind a single USB-C cable running on to the chair, a lapdock is just a portable monitor that happens to have its own battery, keyboard, and mouse. You could turn your PC (mostly) into a laptop with the only limitation being the cable connection.

Yeah it doesn't show the OOS products if they have been OOS for "long enough" however long Amazon thinks that is. I have a few tools that can pull that data for listings (should see what some of the old shoe listings look like lol). Just checked this has 7 OOS listings.

When I flip the filter on desktop it goes from 470 reviews to 152.

you gotta be kidding me. Lapdocks? I wish I knew that existed months ago. would have made my portable mac mini project much simpler.
