These fans barely have any speed and will not cut a fly or your fingers. The goal is just to scare off flies, the motion is enough to keep em mostly away. But just like most these gimmicks, eventually the bugs learn that it's harmless and they'll be all over the food.

they work pretty good at keeping flies away. just be aware, I've bought these and once you extend them to their full size there is no way to break them down to original size

I thought these would be a good possibility for the camper. But, these apparently do not collapse once you have set up the first time. There are others on Amazon that do but not nearly as inexpensively as these. SD dilemma.
