Same for me. I have a whole collection of "blemished" Ryobi tools that arrived like new. Never could find a blemish and they work great.

Maybe if you buy their "recon" tools, which I've heard rough stories on. The 10+ "blemished tools I've purchased over the years from there have all been like new.

lots of Ryobi and Ridgid tools here that were "factory blemish" - never could find a blemish and they are working great. Absolutely can't complain.
The switch on the 40V weed whacker gave out recently, but that's after 3 years of seriously hard work with both the tri-arc blade and the plastic double blade attachment, whacking down heavy woody weeds along pasture lines. That being said, a replacement switch was a few bucks on eBay and it's back in business again...

Exact same experience. Multiple blemishes tools and most were brand new.
The website is run on from an Atari 1600 mainframe but the blemished products are solid.

I had one used snow thrower shipped to me sold as blemished. Return was not simple as FedEx store wouldn't accept batteries. Had to directly drop it to the headquarters located at airport. Quite an experience.

That's normal for Direct Fools Outlet.

They take a broken tool, call it "reconditioned", throw it loosely into a box far too big for it, and it arrives in multiple pieces. It's also missing essential accessories for it to function.

You get nowhere with their support channels -- emails, phone calls go in circles. "We'll investigate and get back to you." What do you need to investigate? My tool isn't working! Give me an RMA label in my email so we can do a swap or refund.

Days go by, and they refuse any refund or exchange. You escalate, get nowhere. You blast a message to them on their anti-social media handles -- thinking public shaming might work. Pro tip -- that doesn't work anymore (since Twitter went off the deep end, this tactic lost ANY ability to influence results in your favor).

So in the end, you call up your CC company for a chargeback -- with a record of all communications and attempts to make the situation right. Which requires you to sign forms and get a new CC number (most cards require this now for every chargeback -- so now anything that's routinely/automatically charged needs to be updated, lest it get cancelled on you).

Direct Fools Outlet is not worth the hassle. Save your money, save your time, save your patience -- buy from Home Despot. At least they're very reasonable with returns if you have one of their many retail locations near you.

Never had an issue and i.dont have any direct tools store.near me. Don't buy recon just buy blemish and your good. Its.worth the hassle.when they have tools close to or at 50% off. Never had an issue but haven't seen many deals as before.

What does an atairi or whatever thing have to do with it?

They have to sell new tools as blemished because of their contract either HD.
