uh what am I reading? there's a few reviews with "nickle leaching" hysteria but they can't decide if they'd prefer 18/10 steel which is a sign of quality but has 10% nickle or a steel of lesser quality but with less nickle content. and the rest of the one star reviews are irrelevant as they just complain about food sticking

Where do you want it made and then how much are you prepared to pay for that?

Waiting for the freaking Tramontina 12PC set to have a sale. It might never happen at this point, will all the tariffs.

They are pretty close, but I prefer the Cuisinart. Can go into a 500° oven vs 450° for this Calphalon. You already have the same 3 frying pans that this set comes with, and frankly you don't need triply stainless for sauce pans and stock pots, unless you just want everything to match, it is unnecessary (doesn't really add much as far as what you are cooking in those pots).

There are something like 4 different levels of stainless Cuisinart pans. Just depends on which one you got.

IIRC, the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro would be better than this Calphalon set. Not necessarily wildly better, but there have historically been fantastic deals on the Multiclad around Black Friday. (No telling if those kind of deals will happen in the future with tariffs)

I've had these for over a year now and have been extremely happy with them. Absolutely incredible deal for $100. They're my first stainless pots and pans after being afraid to use them previously (thinking everything would stick or be impossible to clean). I love that I can use stainless utensils without worry and that I'm not poisoning my family - the two downsides of non-stick cookware. Pre-heat it correctly and use a bit of butter/oil and nothing sticks. Cleaning is easy - put water in it while still hot and/or heat it back up with water in there and it's very easy to clean. Usually I'll do a quick scrub with Bar Keepers Friend to get them looking like new. If you use Bar Keepers Friend on the bottoms of them, it will wipe off the words on the bottom of the pans. These have riveted handles, so that's an extra pain when trying to clean... for some reason even with all of the methods above, it's very hard to get the area around the rivets completely clean. I don't comment on here often but this a heck of a deal.
