These don't appear to be the safety edge can openers that leave a smooth edge. They look more like traditional can openers. Not sure why they are being advertised as smooth edge.

According to reviews on Amazon, the kitchenaid ones don't last very long, they aren't made like they were years ago.

I can confirm the KitchenAid ones are great until they stop working in 6 months of use. Then they're absolutely useless and horrible.

OXO has been the best one for us. We use it in a restaurant environment and have gone through many, don't go cheap; just my 2 cents.

Same experience with kitchen-not-so-aid. The cheap Costco ones at the business center last much longer than those.

These types of can openers with the plastic handles seem to break easily. I bought one like this and one that was all steel. The plastic one broke after I opened two cans of tuna. It didn't last 5 minutes. The all steel old fashioned one works best. I was told this and it's 💯 % true.

Reviews are paid for which is why the rating for this opener is so high. I'd avoid purchasing this cheap garbage.
