This seems like a decent and decently light tent for backpacking. I already have a Big Agnes Copper Spur that's roughly the same size and weight or I'd jump on this.

I got this last year at a similar price. It's palatial as a 1p tent, tight for 2p, but does benefit from being rectangular and having 2 doors. The 3p version would be awesome as a 2p. It is more finicky to set up than the REI quarter dome it replaced since the cords and hooks are so small, and I haven't tested waterproofing in full rain. The fly is kind of hard to adjust so it doesn't touch the inner mesh.

Hard to find anything else that beats this quality and weight at this price, while being freestanding.

great lightweight tent. as with all 2 person tents, would be tight for 2 people.

I have the aspect 3. I lost it in a lightning storm in NM, immediately reordered. If you're looking for a 1 person tent without getting deep into the UL, this is it. I've used my new one over 50 times, no issues.

Just get one from one of these brands like Naturehike, Featherstone, Paria, OneTigres, or 3F UL, for half the price of this... they're made in the same factories anyways...

I love the Aspect 3 that I use for backpacking with my teenage son. I initially bought it on sale directly from MHW, along with 2 other tents to avoid the supposed harmful fire-retardants found in most tents, having previously used Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 and UL4.
As stated in the REI MHW description: "All tent materials free of fire-retardant chemicals"
This deal is tempting to replace my BACS UL2 for solo backpacking...
Also, the footprint for the Aspect 2 appears to be out of stock everywhere, so be sure to get an alternative footprint for longevity.

I looked at all 5 brands you suggested. I didn't find any 2p freestanding tents in the same weight class for half the price.
