These are great little cameras with sd card support. But just a reminder, you'll have to set either alert you to all motion or if you want only person detection, you'll have to pay subscription fee. Person detection is no longer free. It's now only available if you pay for it along with the other types of detection like package, animal or vehicle.

It's 199 a year for unlimited cameras with 60 days recording. Thats a bargain.

If you say so. Eufy, reolink and others offer person detection for free. But if you feel $16 a month for something that is free with others is a good deal that's your decision.
$10 a mo for unlimited cams. Cheaper for cam plus plan with less features. The $200 a year is the full plan I think that includes monitored calls like a security company.

Valuable comment. Thanks for the heads up. Will pass.
Shame. I liked my original Wyze which didn't have this feature but while the Wyze Pro had this and I was looking forward to that model it seems it is gone or now behind this subscription. Goes against their original "mission", if you will, and against my anti-sub nature. I'm out.
I'm sure someone will comment about how cheap it is and disagree with my perspective but just understand…I don't care.

How do these compare to v3? is the setup process still the qr code bs?
They have slightly better resolution and a few other minor features (built in light, etc) over the v3s but generally speaking they're similar (I'd take a v4 over a v3 of course).
The setup process is still QR based. I'm not sure what about it is "bs"? It's pretty simple and straightforward.

Having to change WiFi on them requires repeating the QR process-- not jdeal. I've also had issues getting them to connect. Sometimes first try, other times it might take an hour to get it to go. I've seen reddit threads talking about the same thing.

Nothing to change if your user name and password stays the same. Never had a problem in years with connecting
This is coming from someone who has owned a few Wyze products (and still do, until they kick the bucket).
I've never had such a temperamental, unstable, capricious product like these cameras (and accessories).
Setup might work...or not work. It's fickle.
You might suddenly lose 100% of the camera's bandwidth....why? No idea.
Camera settings will randomly reset. Cooldown periods change, recording to the SD card randomly stops, doesn't record audio (only video). Etc.
It 100% does NOT respect detection zones. At all. It also doesn't respect subject detection (only detect person and animals -- you get hours of clips with "RANDOM MOTION DETECTED", not a person or animal. This is awesome for battery powered cameras, which can run the battery down to zero in a few hours...even if you took extreme care to ensure your detection settings are modest and limited.
Sharing cameras is weird. The "guest" can't view past playback (only live camera), but they LITERALLY CAN TURN THE CAMERA OFF. There's zero granularity to the guest settings/permission too.
There's like four or five different subscriptions you need to be aware of, all with similar non-descriptive names. Cam, Cam Plus, Cam Plus Lite, Cam Lite for example.
And the worst part -- if a camera goes down, there's no notification. YOU need to be proactive and stay on top of monitoring things. It's a bargain basement, made-in-china, servers-in-china solution. Do NOT put them anywhere private, that's for sure.
I do still use a few of them, but when they crap out (and they're one firmware update away from bricking themselves - "oops gotta buy a new one! yours is out of warranty!" is support's message)....I'm looking into something else entirely. Probably closed circuit with zero online features (not like they're doing any good anyways!).
