This game was hyped up to be the next dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi 3 but it flopped so hard for some reason, dragon ball xenoverse 2 came out in 2016 is still getting updates and more popular

That's disappointing to hear. Budokai 3 seemed huge!
I know this has a bunch of "what if" scenarios, does that add a lot of playtime for single player or is the overall SP experience short?
