I bought one of these a few years back, barely lasted a year. Terrible quality.

I came here to say similar. I had 3 and they were all very lightly used and always under a covered porch. One of them cracked and broke where the upright dowel part slides into the rocker curved wood. The wood was not rotted but it was a very "weak" and non dense piece of wood if that helps you imagine it. If this broke while an elderly person was in it it could have been a really big problem.

Going forward I'll probably look around for a comfortable polywood type chair since they really get rave reviews and you won't need to replace it.

Wow, all the shade on this. I bought 2 a few years ago, use them on my covered patio with really nice cushions (they've been out for 2 New England winters), and they have been fantastic. I just ordered 2 more at this amazing price as back-ups for when these fail in about 5 years... when they'll be 3-400 bucks!
The problem with Chinese stuff is that the quality varies so much. Guess I got lucky on the first go-round. Paid about $150 for the 2 I have now and considered that a deal. This is super-good if I get lucky again.
I say, go for it if you're looking for rocking chairs. At $44 apiece, this is a bargain - trust me... so long as you receive a well-finished chair. You will probably want to invest in nice cushions. Nowadays, those cushions will cost as much as the damn chairs! ;-)
My wife and I adore sitting on them every evening. Again, good cushions really make a difference. Enjoy, I hope.
