Just use some teriyaki sauce from the store. This tastes off. Also wasn't spam for poor people? When the hell did it get so expensive???

When people started figuring out how good it can be, not to mention its a delicacy and has become a staple and extremely popular in all the Pacific locations not just Hawaii.

Just like lobster, caviar, and just about anything else you can think off that was poor food at one time is now prized.

What in my logic is flawed, the extreme popularity outside the continental United states or you not knowing that foods that were once considered peasant food like lobster and shrimp because they are bottom feeders eating the waste of others all of a sudden became rich peoples foods because of good marketing? Patagonian toothfish, biggest joke of expensive food recently also now known as Chilean Seabass, lolol, one of the poorest poor people food ever consumed by locals in large quantities being charged huge amount everywhere else cause of good marketing. All it took is a name change for the fish to all of a sudden be popular.

South Korea: Is the second-largest consumer of Spam globally. Spam is considered a luxury item and is even given as a gift for Korean New Year.
