However if hardware failure occurred, it is pain in the but to get this repair.
I am still using my MSI titan gt83. That one is with coffee lake and sli 1080s and I have had no issues.
I personally would rather get a slightly worse system specs wise from Lenovo, ASUS or even HP Omen than MSI at any price point. Their build quality is generally extremely low. I haven't personally messed with this MSI Raider 18, but the MSI Titan (highest tier 18" from them I believe) felt flimsier than a HP Victus despite costing 4-5x more. MSI gaming laptops are pretty universally viewed as the lowest build quality of the major brands and have been for a while despite the anecdotes in this thread (which is great for them).
Do you WANT a 18 inch 7+ lb laptop (plan on 9-10 lbs with power supply). Personally I consider that more of a desktop you can take to the living room rather than really travel with.
If you are okay with that and actively WANt a 18 inch laptop, this is pretty cheap price wise.
Personally I would suggest a 16" Lenovo Legion or ASUS ROG for 2-3k with similar specs but noticeably better build quality and not so heavy. When in desktop mode you PROBABLY use external monitors anyways.
