I have this thing, won't stop anyone from breaking open your door. At best will give you an extra 10 seconds to get your gun.

Not everyone has the time, skills, or knowledge to build a 2x4. In for 1

So it's cheap? What would happen if someone tried to break it down? It would take a few extra hits to the door?

Or if you're the bad guy, you can use a rock through the glass or just cut the glass quietly for that Catwoman or Pink Panther approach.

My wife loves to lock the sliding screen door when she leaves the sliding glass door open. I've been trying to convince her for years to quit doing it. I'd rather just deal with the consequences of the break-in and not replacing the screen as well, just because it was locked.

I tried it on my front door and bedroom door. Bedroom did a bit better because of the carpet. Front door is tile, took an extra slam or two but that's it. I'm not saying its terrible but don't expect it to stop a grown man that really puts his weight behind him.

What do you have to build a 2x4? You measure the length and goto home Depot and ask them to cut it.

Tip: use this on the hinge side (which is often easier to kick in), and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D2K367Y on the doorknob/deadbolt side..

I'm sure Home Depot or Lowes have some curved ones laying around they would probably give you.

I have one. Probably slow someone down 10 seconds. Be aware the super strong ones may have their own issues. These things fit around the door knob. If someone kicks the knob of the lock on the other side, there's a chance that the kick sends all the pressure into the door, potentially destroying the door and the lock. Great price for this though. Better than nothing.

Lol @ build a 2x4. It's literally just a piece of wood. No one expects you to go into the forest, cut down a tree, and make a 2x4. You literally just buy it cut to the desired length.
