Cool story bro. Everyone here just doesn't want water getting inside their watch. Enjoy your Casio

Is the name on the dial and high price what makes it luxury or is it quality? Oris is absolutely a luxury brand. No different from mass produced Rolex but 1/3 of the price.

That's called water resistant. A real dive watch is something like a Suunto or Garmin Descent MK2i Titanium. It actually serves as your dive computer.

Thanks! Wasn't sure if I could take this dive watch in the pool or not.

Is a Ball better at this kind of price level?

Idk is oris a "luxury brand"? I like the style and colors but 43mm seems large for most.
I don't get watch snobs. I suppose they are a tier above bracelets snobs, but barely. Spending a grand on a wrist clock is beyond my comprehension.

You can't dive 30 atmosphere's. At 4-5 you're getting nitrogen narcosis.
You're contradicting yourself terribly. Looks like you're arguing with yourself. Good news is, you'll win the argument. I guess you know the bad news? You'll lose the argument. Big Grin

Same as I can't comprehend how, in nearly every watch thread, someone who clesy can't afford or appreciate the watch being offered comes in and starts whinging about why anyone would pay that kind of money for a watch.

Like clockwork.

Really nice watch, good brand, comparable to Longines in quality or Ball, though I would put Oris over Ball, but that might just be design. Swiss made. Above Tissot, Mido and Hamilton, below Corum, Tudor, Glashutte Original.

1k for the Oris name may be well worth it if one likes the aesthetic. luxury is all about the name attached to it.. for 1k Christopher ward has divers for the same price using essentially the same movement and a few additional features. bigger selection to boot. good warranty as well.https://www.christopherward.com/i...rt=0&sz=48
If you want the best value, try San Martin or other Chinese microbrands. Seiko movements with all the whistles and bells you'd ever want. Not Swiss of course, but great value and solid quality.

Oris is like the coach of handbags. Entry level but legit
