Nothing. In 99% of the cases it doesn't matter. NVMe drives are good for reading lots of small files very fast.

With a drive without DRAM, sequential reads drop after some time. But in real life, no one needs to read one single file that fast.

This was $68 during prime day and you didn't need prime.

DRAM drives are faster. But only for a small percentage of the population for a small percentage of the time.

Loading a PDF, video game, pictures, etc...you won't notice. The difference is fractions of a second. Even for games which may take 30 seconds to load you *might* see a second difference.

Its a useless, antiquated metric for most, and you would be better served judging a drive by TBW warranty.

It also means that for a large part of the slickdeals community, they jump on DRAM vs DRAM-less like a dog in heat. Even though the technology has changed and for the wild majority of people it makes no difference, they still remember Gen 2 SSDs and think "I know everything is faster now, but the technology must not have changed."

As a hybrid shooter (photographer and videographer) who has taken as many as 10,000 photos and a few hours of video in a day, it *might* make a difference when I am moving hundreds of gigs of files between working to archival drives. Except I am not a bellend (or at least not in this case) and instead of staring at my files transferring, I do something else. I might scroll a reel, go watch a movie, or basically anything other than watching the progress of the file transfer because its pretty stupid.
