They are well known in the tablet and cheap-lowend laptop niche. This is the first, or among the early stages, that they have released a capable mini-PC. There are plenty YouTube review videos of this model and all of them talk in favor of it:

I've been looking for a 780M system with decent thermals for the past 3 months under $400 from a known manufacturer for my son to play AOE4 and Minecraft and this one seems to be one of the few that would work. Would you agree?

Yes, it definitely would. You can watch the reviews I've linked above. All of them mention the thermals and fan noise to be minimal and well managed.

From the Top Review:
They cut corners to reach a low price-point, so the SSD is only Gen 3 (about 3000 MB/s) and having only one memory stick means that it's stuck at last-generation speeds until you upgrade it... ...If you upgrade the SSD, clone the existing one, because Chuwi's support website doesn't work and they don't answer emails or web forms, so you can't get drivers for the WI-FI. It's easier to buy a cheap Intel card (again, easy to install) before installing Windows - Windows installs Intel drivers but not Realtek, apparently.

I bought a Chuwi Corebook X laptop about a month ago, and it's been working very well. Installed Linux on it, and other than having to figure out how to get wifi working, everything was easy. Happy that it has non-soldered memory (and an extra slot to boot), as well as space to upgrade the NVME drive and even replace the battery. It's very reasonably thin, so for all the western manufacturers that say they have to solder in all the components (rendering them non-upgradable or repairable), survey says: that's a lie.

There is a review on this Mini PC with plenty of benchmarks:
https://www.notebookcheck.com/Bes...339.0.html

There is nothing else close in price with an 8745HS (which has the 780M GPU) with the RAM/NVMe.

Only two small issues for some: (1) not great thermals for the top side of the case (RAM, NVMe, WiFi) and (2) limited to 32GB total. I'm curious about the 32GB limitation because similar 8745HS systems are limited to 64GB.

I got the AOOSTAR with 8745hs for $329 (currently still that price on Amazon) barebones. All things considered, I dont think the 16gb and 512 SSD of this deal are worth $50, especially because that memory will be cut down quite a bit when you allocate some of it as VRAM.
