Guessing I am late to this, but I would take the Lenovo and for me it isn't even close to a hard decision. MSI build quality at all price points of their gaming laptops is garbage. Like the MSI 18" Titan has worse build quality than HP Victus or Legion LOQs at 20% it's price. It's crazy how bad MSI's build quality is and has been for almost a decade now.

Ignoring that though, I still don't think this is particularly close. The CPU on the Legion crushes the 14th gen I9 and I believe has noticeably better battery life (though I doubt either is good). Legion weighs .75 lbs less which is noticeable on a laptop this size. The Legion screen is better being Oled and brighter. Main downside that matters is the 5070 ti only has 12 GBs of ram vs 16 on the 4080, but unless you plan to get a new laptop on a semi yearly basis, I wouldn't touch a MSI until they get their build quality better.

The 4080 laptop GPU also has 12 GB of memory.

Weird B&H photo specs say 16. Not saying you are wrong, because I'm seeing the same on some quick googling.

In which case the MSI is even worse because the 5070 ti will likely perform better in real world performance than the 4080 because of newer DLSS implementations and the like that reduce overhead.

Great deal but heads-up this is only 1TB. The overview said 1TB and the specs said 2TB - sales team confirmed it is only 1TB.
